Real Estate Licensing in Lazy Lake village, Florida
Who Needs a License
Under Florida law, a broker or sales associate engaged in real estate transactions must be licensed by the State of Florida.
Per Fla. Stat. § 489.105, a "broker" is defined as any person who, for compensation or promise of compensation, sells, exchanges, purchases, rents, or leases real property, or who negotiates or offers to negotiate the sale, exchange, purchase, rental, or lease of real property. A "sales associate" is a natural person licensed under a broker to perform licensed activities on behalf of that broker.
If you are buying, selling, leasing, or exchanging real property in Lazy Lake on behalf of others for compensation, you must hold an active Florida real estate license. Self-dealing (transactions in your own name for your own account) does not require licensing.
