How to Get Licensed

Florida licenses electricians through the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB). The process requires:

  2. Military Service Credit: If applicable, Fla. Stat. § 489.1131 allows credit for relevant military training and education toward experience requirements.

  3. Examination: Pass the CILB-administered exam for your license classification.

The CILB, established under Fla. Stat. § 489.107, administers all state electrical licensing.
