How to Get Licensed

Steps to obtain a Florida real estate license:

  1. Complete pre-licensing education. Complete a 63-hour or 72-hour approved real estate salesperson course, depending on whether you're applying as a sales associate or broker associate.

  2. Pass the state exam. Apply with DBPR and pass the Florida Real Estate Salesperson Examination or Florida Real Estate Broker Examination.

  3. Obtain sponsorship. A salesperson must be sponsored by an active Florida real estate broker before licensure is issued.
