Sec. 38.101. - Established.

There is created a quasi executive department to be known as the Medical Examiner's Office. The Department shall be responsible for the implementation of F.S. Ch. 406.

Sec. 38.102. - Employees.

The Medical Examiner, appointed and retained in conformance with F.S. § 406.06 shall be the director of the Department. The Medical Examiner may appoint such Associate Medical Examiner's as may be approved in the annual budget, and such Associate Medical Examiners shall serve at the pleasure of the Medical Examiner and shall be exempt from Chapter 17 of the Charter.

The Medical Examiner may hire such other employees into such other positions as may be approved in the annual budget.
