PART 2. - FIRE FIGHTING
Sec. 678.201. - "City fire forces" defined.
For purposes of this Part, City fire forces means the officers and employees of the Fire and Rescue Department and the volunteer firefighters serving the City under contract with volunteer fire organizations.

Sec. 678.202. - Police power.
The Director of Fire and Rescue is vested with the powers of a police officer of the City, for the purpose of making arrests for violation of this Part.

Sec. 678.203. - Fire fighting regulations.
No person shall:
(a)
Reserved.
(b)
Damage, destroy or in any way interfere with any portion of the City's fire alarm system.
(c)

(d)
Obstruct City fire forces' approaches to a fire hydrant or other proper source of water.
(e)

Sec. 678.204. - Penalty for violation.
It shall be unlawful and class D offense for a person to violate a provision of this Part.

Sec. 678.205. - False alarms prohibited; reward for capture and conviction of violator.
(a)
It shall be unlawful for a person to make or send in a false fire alarm to any station of the City fire forces. Violation of this Section shall constitute a class D offense, with a minimum fine of $50 and a minimum term of imprisonment of 30 days.
(b)
The Mayor is authorized to offer a reward for the capture and conviction of a person who violates this Section, not to exceed the sum of $100 for each person detected and convicted.

PART 3. - RAILROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY FIRE HAZARD AREAS
Sec. 678.301. - Designation of fire hazard areas.
The Director of Fire and Rescue is authorized and directed annually to designate, on or before October 1, those railroad rights-of-way to be known as fire hazard areas in the General Services District, in conjunction with the State Division of Forestry. After designation, the Director of Fire and Rescue shall immediately notify the railroad companies of the designations.

Sec. 678.302. - Maintenance of designated fire hazard areas.
It shall be the duty of the railroad companies operating in the General Services District to maintain the rights-of-way designated pursuant to Section 678.301 as fire hazard areas in an approved condition as prescribed by the Director of Fire and Rescue so as to prevent fire from igniting or spreading from the rights-of-way to adjacent property.
