Sec. 106.212. - Effective date of budget ordinance provisions; term of budget ordinance.

Notwithstanding the date on which the budget ordinance for the ensuing fiscal year becomes effective, the language and appropriations contained in the budget ordinance shall become effective and available for obligation on October 1 of the ensuing fiscal year; provided, that if the budget ordinance becomes effective after October 1 of the ensuing fiscal year, the language and appropriations contained therein shall become effective and available for obligation on the effective date of the budget ordinance itself. Each budget ordinance shall be effective and the appropriations contained therein shall be available for obligation until September 30 of the fiscal year for which it was enacted, but not thereafter.
