Sec. 111.810. - James Brady Disabled Duval County High School Students College Scholarship Trust Fund.

There is hereby created a trust fund to be known as the James Brady Disabled Duval County High School Students College Scholarship Trust Fund. There shall be deposited in this fund all donations (including, but not limited to, gifts, bequests and grants from governmental and nongovernmental entities), funds of the City, and beginning with the 1996—1997 fiscal year, the lesser of 35 percent or $7,500 (on an annual fiscal year basis) of the monies collected as fines pursuant to Ordinance Code Section 804.1012 (c)(1) (unauthorized parking in disabled parking space prohibited). These monies shall be used only for college scholarships for Duval County high school students participating in the Exceptional Student Education Program. Such scholarships shall be limited to tuition, books and necessary auxiliary aids and shall be administered in accordance with rules established by the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, with the Director choosing, on an annual basis, those students deserving of receiving assistance. The Director of Finance and Administration, or her designee, is authorized and directed to make disbursements from annual amounts in the trust fund upon the written request of the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. Any annual appropriation or donation into the trust fund remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not lapse but shall remain in the trust fund and carry forward into the next fiscal year.
