Sec. 122.102. - Naming of and signage on public facilities regulated.

(a) No public facility in the City shall be named after any living person. (b) The main library for the City shall not bear the name of any individual but shall be designated "The Jacksonville Public Library." (c) The Duval County Courthouse shall not bear the name of any individual but shall be designated "The Duval County Courthouse." (d) The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena shall be designated only as "VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena and any shortened name used by the City or its arena manager in promotion of the Arena shall include the word "veterans." (e) The name of a current Consolidated Government officer, official, or employee shall not be placed or allowed to appear on any outdoor signage identifying a public office or building, whether leased or owned by the Consolidated City of Jacksonville, including its executive and legislative branches and its constitutional offices and independent agencies. This Section shall not apply to commemorative plaques.
