Sec. 122.502. - Weapons, explosives and flammable materials.

(a) It shall be unlawful and a class B offense for a person who is not duly authorized by law to do so to possess or carry on an airport property supervised by the Jacksonville Port Authority at Jacksonville International Airport, Herlong Airport or Craig Airport a weapon capable of causing serious injury, an explosive or flammable material mentioned in Title XII, unless the person possessing or carrying the weapon, explosive or flammable material has first secured written permission to do so from the Authority, its Director of Aviation, or a duly authorized representative of the Authority or its Director of Aviation. (b) An officer or employee of the United States, the State or the City who is duly authorized by law to possess and carry a weapon while engaged in the performance of official duties, if so engaged in the performance of official duties, while on the airport property shall be deemed duly authorized by law to do so, and is not required to secure written permission to do so from the Jacksonville Port Authority or its Director of Aviation. (c) The Jacksonville Port Authority or its Director of Aviation, or the duly authorized representative of either, may issue a written permit to possess and carry concealed or unconcealed weapons and explosives to all officers and employees of the Authority, or a person, corporation, or public or private agency having duties to perform on airport property that make it necessary, advisable or desirable for weapons or explosives to be possessed and carried while performing those duties, without naming each officer or employee permitted to do so.
