Sec. 122.807. - Property officers.

Section: 122.807.

Each accountable officer will appoint a property officer for his unit of government. The property officer shall: (a) Maintain the tangible personal property records and associated files for the unit of government in accordance with the rules promulgated by the City Comptroller. (b) Assist the Accounting Division in the taking of physical inventories and in the reconciliation of the inventory with the property records in the case of discrepancies. (c) Maintain the records of service contracts and warranties and see that they are faithfully executed or honored according to their terms. (d) Receive new property items and assist the Accounting Division in properly identifying and marking them. (e) Be responsible for disposing of property which has been authorized for disposition by the Procurement Division, as directed by the Chief of Procurement. (f) Maintain the custody receipt files for property which is delegated to custodians by the accountable officer, and note changes in custody and withdrawals from custody in appropriate instances. Where the size of the unit of government or the diverse locations of the tangible personal property makes it advisable, the accountable officer may appoint more than one property officer and designate, for each one, the property and associated files and records for which he is responsible under this Section.
