Sec. 185.504. - Reasonable written proof of ownership required.

(a) A secondary metals recycler shall not purchase restricted regulated metals property, as defined herein, without first obtaining reasonable written proof that the seller either owns the item(s) or is otherwise lawfully authorized to sell the item(s). (b) Upon obtaining reasonable written proof of ownership, the secondary metals recycler shall electronically scan and preserve in a digital format, images of the document(s) upon which the secondary metals recycler relied as reasonable written proof. The secondary metals recycler shall preserve these records for a period of five years from the date of the transaction. (Ord. 2011-766-E, § 1)
