Sec. 30.803. - Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator.

Section: 30.803.

There is hereby established a full-time position of the Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator within the Transportation Planning Division of the Planning and Development Department. The Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator shall have the authority to review all plans submitted for review pursuant to Chapter 654 , to serve as staff to the Context Sensitive Streets Standards Committee set forth in Section 32.702, Ordinance Code, coordinate with the Traffic Engineering Division of the Public Works Department with respect to issues pertaining to bicycle and pedestrian use of rights-of-way, coordinate with the Planning Services Division of the Planning and Development Department on the implementation and any updates of the Mobility Plan with respect to bicycle and pedestrian issues, and coordinate with the Office of the Sheriff, with respect to any criminal issues pertaining to bicycle and pedestrian safety, and coordinate with any other agency or department with respect to bicycle and pedestrian issues. The Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator shall have a college degree from an accredited college or university, in urban planning, community planning, regional planning, architecture, geography or landscape architecture, public administration or related field and at least five years' experience in planning, or at least four years of experience with a master's degree from an accredited college or university in any of the above listed fields. The Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator shall also have at least two years' experience in bicycle and pedestrian design standards. AICP certification is preferred.
