Sec. 31.704. - Authority of Executive Director with respect to property and funds.

The Executive Director shall have authority to receive and accept property, gifts, legacies or devises now or hereafter made or granted to the Fire Museum for the purpose of establishing, operating, maintaining and improving the Fire Museum; provided, that all moneys received by the Executive Director shall be deposited upon receipt into the Fire Museum Trust Fund. The Executive Director may negotiate and execute agreements with public agencies and with private individuals and entities for the donation or loan of personal property owned by the City as part of the Fire Museum collection to other museums or institutions for exhibition, historical, research or educational purposes, and for the temporary transfer of personal property owned by the City as part of the Fire Museum collection to other persons on a reciprocal basis. The Executive Director may accept personal property as an exhibit in the Fire Museum in the name of or in memory of persons, living or deceased, who owned the property or who contributed to the growth and development of firefighting in the City. The heads of executive departments and independent agencies are authorized to transfer or loan to the Fire Museum, without charge, items in keeping with the purposes of the Fire Museum for exhibition, historical, research or educational purposes.
