Sec. 31.802. - Organization; officers; support.

(a) The Board shall convene at least once each quarter, at such time and place as shall be fixed by its rules. Special meetings may be called in accordance with the Board's rules. A quorum shall be a two-thirds majority of the Board. A vacancy shall not impair the ability of the remaining members to exercise all the powers of the Board. The Board may establish such rules and committees from among its membership as it deems necessary to carry out its functions. Committee members shall be appointed by the Chairman. (b) A chairman, one or more vice-chairmen, and a secretary shall be elected annually by the Board from among its members. The officers shall have such duties and responsibilities as are assigned to them by the rules of the Board. (c) The members of the Board shall serve without compensation, but they shall be entitled to travel expense reimbursement in accordance with Part 7, Chapter 126 . The Board is assigned to the Office of the Director of Fire and Rescue for administrative support, including secretarial help, incidental supplies, professional guidance and similar matters.
