Sec. 324.803. - Cylinders for oxygen and fuel gases.

(a) Oxygen and fuel-gas cylinders, unless secured on a special truck, shall not be moved unless the cylinder caps, if provided for in the cylinder design, are in place. Cylinders shall not be stored without caps in place. (b) Suitable cradles shall be used for lifting or lowering oxygen or fuel gas cylinders. Ordinary rope slings or electromagnets shall not be used. (c) Cylinders shall be placed away from the welding position so that they will not be unduly heated by radiation from heated materials, by sparks or slag or by misdirection of the torch flame. (d) Cylinders shall be stored away from combustible materials and in locations where they are not liable to excessive rise in temperature, physical damage or tampering.
