Sec. 342.124. - Alarm contractors.

(a) To be registered as an alarm system contractor I, an alarm system contractor II, or a residential alarm system contractor as defined in F.S. § 489.505(21), (22) and (23), the applicant shall apply for a registration in the appropriate alarm system category with the Florida Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board. As a prerequisite for acceptance of this registration by the Board, the Board required payment of an initial registration fee as found in www.coj.net/fees , completion of the Contractor/Administration application, verification from the Florida Electrical Contractor's Board the applicant scored at least 75 percent on an examination approved by the Florida Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board, proof of at least three years technical experience in the trade as verified by the Florida Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board, and holding a valid occupational license. (b) The renewal of this registration shall be governed by the procedures as outlined under Section 342.118, Ordinance Code, as well as F.S. Ch. 489, Part II. (c) The biennial renewal fee shall be as found in www.coj.net/fees . (d) The requirement of this Section shall not apply to persons making application prior to the effective date of this act.
