Sec. 350.301. - Political activities of certain officers and employees during duty hours.

It is unlawful and a class C offense for an officer or employee of the City or an independent agency (except elected officials, members of the advisory and regulatory boards of the City and members of the board of an independent agency) to take any active part in political management or in political campaigns during duty hours; provided, that this Section shall not be construed to prohibit an officer or employee from voting as he or she may choose and from expressing his or her opinion on a political subject or candidate. No leaves of absence, excluding previously accumulated vacation leaves, shall be granted to officers or employees for the purpose of participating in a political campaign. (Ord. 2007-329-E, § 2)
