Sec. 360.103. - Responsibility of Consolidated Government.

Section: 360.103.

In order to carry out the policy declared in Section 360.101 , it is the continuing responsibility of the Consolidated Government to use all practicable means, consistent with other essential considerations of policy, to improve and coordinate the Consolidated Government's plans, functions, programs and resources to the end that the City may: (a) Fulfill the responsibilities of each generation as trustee of the environment for succeeding generations. (b) Assure for the inhabitants of the City reasonably safe, healthful, productive and aesthetically and culturally pleasing surroundings. (c) Attain the widest range of beneficial uses of the environment without significant degradation, undue risk to health or safety or other undesirable and unintended consequences. (d) Preserve important natural aspects of the City's heritage and maintain, wherever possible, an environment which supports diversity and variety of individual choice. (e) Achieve a balance between population and resource use which will permit high living standards and a wide sharing of life's amenities. (f) Achieve a reasonable balance between environmental quality and the economic well-being of the City. (Ord. 84-674-684, § 1; Ord. 85-1295-690, § 1)
