Sec. 37.115. - Corrections Department Literacy Program.

The Sheriff is authorized to provide a literacy program within the Duval County Jail and Correction Facilities subject to annual appropriations or available funding. It is the intent of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to be committed to the safety of the Citizens of Jacksonville, and finds that an inmate provided with access to literacy is enabled to rehabilitate themselves and provide a better opportunity to themselves while incarcerated and after incarceration.
