Sec. 462.1001. - Definitions.

As used in this Part, unless the context clearly requires otherwise: (a) Animal Dealer means any person or entity that breeds and/or offers for sale any animals to be kept as pets including, but not limited to dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish, ferrets, rodents, and reptiles. Hobby breeders in compliance with the provisions of this Part are excluded from this definition. (b) Health Certificate means "Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (OCVI)" (Form DACS-09085 and in accordance with F.S. § 828.29) issued by a Florida licensed veterinarian accredited by the United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.). (c) Hobby Breeder means any person or entity that breeds two or fewer female dogs or cats per year for profit, sale or trade. (Ord. 2025-794-E , § 2)
