Title 12174 · Code of Ordinances
Sec. 462.401. - Intent.
Citation: Jacksonville, FL Code of Ordinances § 462.401.
Section: 462.401.
The Council finds that dangerous dogs are an increasingly serious and widespread threat to the safety and welfare of the people of Jacksonville because of unprovoked attacks which cause injury to persons and domestic animals. The Council further finds that existing laws inadequately address this growing problem and that it is appropriate and necessary to impose uniform requirements for owners of dangerous dogs. It is Council's intent, in enacting this Part, to implement certain regulation of "dangerous dogs" as authorized in F.S. Ch. 767. (Ord. 2004-259-E, § 1)
