Sec. 601.408. - Solicitation or use of gifts.

It is unlawful and a class C offense for any person: (a) To solicit any gift of money or other property and represent that the gift is being solicited for the use of the City, with the intention of embezzling, stealing or purloining the gift, or converting it to any other use or purpose. (b) Having come into possession of any money or property which has been donated by the owner thereof for the use of the City, to embezzle, steal or purloin the money or property, or convert it to any other use or purpose.
