Sec. 614.130. - Fraudulent accosting.

No person shall fraudulently accost another person in a public place with the intent to defraud that person of money or other property. (a) A person is guilty of the offense of fraudulent accosting when he accosts a person in a public place with the intent to defraud that person of his money or other property by means of a trick, swindle or confidence game. (b) A person who, either at the time he accosts another person in a public place or some subsequent time or at some other place, makes statements to him of a kind commonly made or performed in the perpetration of a known type of confidence game, trick or swindle, is presumed to intend to defraud such person of his money or other property. (c) A violation of this Section shall constitute a class D offense. (Ord. 85-1047-557, § 1)
