Sec. 616.118. - Skateboarding prohibited in certain areas.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a skateboard on private property within a business, commercial or industrial area of the City where such area has been designated by the owner, manager or lessee of the private property as an area where skateboarding is prohibited by the posting and placement of a sign in a prominent location thereon which states "NO SKATEBOARDING ALLOWED. SECTION 616.118 MUNICIPAL CODE. $25 FINE." in letters not less than two inches high. (b) It shall be unlawful for a parent, legal guardian or custodian of a minor child to suffer or permit the minor child to operate a skateboard in violation of subsection (a) of this Section. (c) Violation of this Section shall constitute an offense against the City and shall be punishable by a fine of $25 for the first violation and $50 for the second or any subsequent violation thereof. (d) The Office of the Sheriff shall be responsible for enforcement of the provisions of this Section in those areas where the appropriate sign has been posted as required by subsection (a) of this Section.
