Sec. 638.101. - Official court reporters to receive stipend or salary supplement; exception.

Pursuant to the provisions of F.S. Ch. 27, Pt. I, the official court reporters reporting in criminal proceedings in the Circuit and County Courts within Duval County shall receive a stipend or salary supplement from the City, in addition to the salaries and expenses of the official court reporters that are paid from the annual appropriations act of the Legislature. The stipend or salary supplement shall be paid to the official court reporters who are designated by the chief official court reporter, with the approval of the Chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, to receive the stipend or salary supplement; provided, that: (a) A stipend or salary supplement shall be paid only to those official court reporters who are paid a salary under the annual appropriations act of the Legislature. (b) Stipends or salary supplements shall be paid under this Section only to the extent that funds have been appropriated and positions have been authorized by the Council in the budget ordinance or supplemental appropriations ordinances.
