Sec. 662.102. - Library facilities.

(a) The Board shall maintain, under rules to be prescribed by it, in the various buildings constructed or acquired for the use of the library system, a circulating library and a reference library, with suitable rooms for reading and study, and one or more free public reading rooms, where newspapers, magazines and periodicals shall be kept for public use during the hours prescribed by the Board. The Board is authorized to establish, operate, change the operation of and disestablish a mobile library service, whereby areas of the City not served by a library within reasonable distance can take advantage of the free library system. (b) Notwithstanding any contrary provisions of Section 122.102 , Ordinance Code, the Jacksonville Board of Library Trustees (the Board) is authorized to select names and to name various libraries, except the main library which shall be designated "The Jacksonville Public Library" and shall not bear the name of any individual. The Board is also authorized to select names for any appurtenances such as rooms, collections of books, lobbies, etc. to any library, including The Jacksonville Public Library, in honor and recognition of any person, living or dead, corporation, association or other entity.
