Sec. 772.333. - Trading, etc., in intangible personal property.

Every person engaged in the business of trading, bartering, buying, lending or selling intangible personal property, whether as owner, agent, broker or otherwise shall pay a license tax according to the following schedule: (1) Brokers: (i) Futures and options .....$225.00 (ii) Investment .....200.00 (iii) Mortgage .....75.00 (iv) Stocks and bonds, wire service .....300.00 (2) Building and loan association .....200.00 (3) Business loan broker .....262.50 (4) Business opportunities .....70.00 (5) Finance or loan business: ..... (i) Motor vehicle financing only .....300.00 (ii) Insurance premium financing only .....187.50 (iii) Discount consumer finance business under Florida Statutes .....562.50 (iv) General finance business, financing automobiles, appliances, etc. .....562.50 (v) Small loan business under Florida Statutes .....562.50 (vi) A person engaged in making loans of money, credit, goods, or choses in action, regardless of the amount or value, or in advertising or soliciting the business in any manner whatsoever, or in acting as an agent by the borrower or lender, whose principal may be a citizen of the City or otherwise, or in lending money on automobiles, furniture or other merchandise, or in purchasing accounts receivables, or in attempting to adjust debts by agreeing to furnish money for the purpose of adjustment, or in acting as agent for adjustment of debts on a fee basis for either debtor or creditor, where the business or occupation is not otherwise specified .....562.50 This subparagraph shall not be construed so as to apply to legally licensed pawnbrokers, real estate brokers in connection with real estate transactions or credit unions operating under provisions of state or federal statutes. (vii) Debtor's clearing house or debtor's clearing agency, being a person who acts as agent for the adjustment of debts without furnishing or assisting in the procurement of funds for the adjustment .....187.50 (6) Investment companies: .....
