Water Conditioning Licensing in High Point CDP, Florida

Who Needs a License

Under Florida law, a person who engages in the business of installing, maintaining, or servicing water conditioning systems must hold a license as a water conditioning contractor. [Fla. Stat. § 489.105] defines water conditioning as treatment of water to alter its chemical, physical, or bacteriological characteristics. This includes installation of softeners, filters, reverse osmosis systems, and related equipment.

If you design, install, repair, or maintain these systems for compensation in High Point CDP, you must be licensed by the state.

[Fla. Stat. § 489.113]

  1. Pass the exam. Apply to the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) and pass the state licensing examination covering water conditioning installation and maintenance.

  2. Submit application. Apply through the CILB with proof of experience, education documentation, and exam passage. Contact the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) for current application procedures and fees.
