Purpose

Section: 12-71

The general purposes of this article are:

(1)

To provide for execution within the city the policies embodied in Title VIII of the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended by the Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988.

(2)

To secure for all individuals within the city the freedom from discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, handicap, familial status or marital status in connection with housing and public accommodations, and thereby to promote the interests, rights and privileges of individuals within the city.
