Employment contracts required; contract execution authorized

(a)

All applicants for police officer positions shall be required to enter into a contract for reimbursement of hiring and training expenses. The contract shall provide for the reimbursement of training expenses incurred by the police department should the applicant leave the employ of the police department within two (2) years of his employment date and be employed by another law enforcement agency in the state.

(b)

The official and city clerk are hereby authorized to execute the contracts in a form approved by the city council with all applicants for police officer positions.
