Application of standards

The standards established by this chapter do not replace or modify standards established by other ordinances or sections of this Code for the construction, replacement or repair of structures. In any case where the provisions of this chapter impose a higher standard than set forth in any other ordinance or section of this Code or under the laws of the state, then the standard as set forth herein shall prevail, but if the provisions of this chapter impose a lower standard than any other ordinance or section of this Code or of the laws of the state, then the higher standard contained in any such ordinance, section or law shall prevail.
