Markers/monuments and decorations

Section: 8-14

(a)

All markers, monuments, decorative adornments, and floral arrangements installed within a cemetery must comply with the Cemetery Technical Manual.

(b)

Any request for decorations and/or plantings outside of the scope listed in the Cemetery Technical Manual will require the approval of the department director.

(c)

Structures, enclosures, markers, or other decorative adornments established on any lot, which have, in the judgment of the city, become unsightly by reason of damage, neglect, or age shall be removed by the city at its expense.

(d)

Plantings of natural vegetation including trees, shrubs, bushes, plants directly into the ground are strictly prohibited. Silk and or plastic floral arrangements are allowed but will be removed at least annually as determined by the city. Fresh floral arrangements will be removed when flowers are considered expired.

(e)

Improvements, renovations, or repairs to existing structures require prior written approval from the parks and recreation department.
