Establishment of policies; regulations

Section: 8-6

(a)

The director shall provide for the administration and operation of all city cemeteries. The director shall be responsible for the policies, regulations, and fees set forth once approved by resolution of the city council.

The director shall have the authority to approve and update the technical manual. Any person who violates such rules or regulations or who refuses to comply with a directive from a city official enforcing such rules or regulations shall be asked to leave the cemetery; failure to leave shall be considered trespassing.

(b)

Conduct in cemeteries.

(1)

No person shall remove or injure any tree, shrub, marker/memorial, nor mar any landmark, marker/memorial or in any way deface the grounds of the cemetery.

(2)

No person shall be permitted to enter or leave the cemetery except by the public gates.

(3)

Visitors within the cemetery grounds shall use only established roads and walkways.

(4)

No person shall use any form of advertisement in city cemeteries, except as otherwise specified in the technical manual.

(5)

No person shall throw/dispose of any refuse anywhere other than designated litter receptacles.

(6)

No person shall permit any dog or other domesticated animal to enter or remain on cemetery grounds for any purpose, with the exception of service animals, as defined in F.S. § 413.08(1)(d).

(7)

Any person found on cemetery grounds after cemetery gates have been closed or between sunset and sunrise will be considered a trespasser.

(8)

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in any city cemetery.
