Applicability

This chapter applies to code enforcement officers acting pursuant to the authority provided under Florida State Statutes, as well as Tampa City Code and city ordinances. Nothing in this chapter shall limit the authority of sworn law enforcement officers to arrest and/or issue notices to appear as provided for under Florida Statutes, Florida Criminal Rules of Procedure, or provided for under City Code. As provided for by law, this chapter provides for alternative enforcement of City Codes, and nothing herein shall limit the authority of a code enforcement officer or sworn law enforcement officer in seeking alternative enforcement. This chapter is intended to provide for a cost effective and expedient alternative to enforcement of the City Code and city ordinances.
