Who Needs a License
Florida requires licensing for any person who offers to perform, or performs, engineering services for the public. Under Fla. Stat. § 489.105, "engineering" means any professional service or creative work requiring engineering education, training, and experience. This includes design, analysis, evaluation, and consultation on engineering projects.
If you design structures, systems, or infrastructure in Town 'n' Country or perform engineering work that affects public safety, you must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license from the state of Florida.
How to Get Licensed
Licensing is administered by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), not a local town board.

Local Requirements
Town 'n' Country falls within Hillsborough County jurisdiction for permit and licensing administration.
Permitting:
- Contact the Town 'n' Country Building Department or Hillsborough County Building and Development Services for permits on any engineering work in Town 'n' Country.
