Real Estate Licensing in Andrews CDP, Florida
Who Needs a License
Under Florida law, a real estate broker or salesperson must hold an active license to engage in any act defined as a real estate transaction. Fla. Stat. § 489.105 defines a broker as any person who, for compensation, sells, exchanges, purchases, rents, or leases real property, or who offers or attempts to do so. A salesperson is any natural person employed by or associated with a broker who performs these functions.
If you buy, sell, exchange, or lease real property on behalf of others for compensation—including residential and commercial transactions—you need licensing.
