Plumbing Licensing in Madison City, Florida
Who Needs a License
Any person who engages in plumbing work in Madison city must hold a Florida plumbing license. Under Fla. How to Get Licensed
Licensing is issued by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board under authority of Fla. Stat. § 489.107.
Steps:
- Establish qualifications. Per Fla. Stat. § 489.113, you must demonstrate either:
- Four years of experience as a licensed plumber or apprentice under a licensed plumber, OR

Apply with the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board (not the local town). Submit proof of experience, education, and financial responsibility.

Pass the state plumbing exam. The exam covers Florida Building Code requirements and plumbing standards.

Obtain your license. Once approved, you receive a state license valid statewide.
Medical Gas Work: If performing medical gas certification work, Fla. Stat. § 489.1136 requires additional certification. Verify current requirements with the state board.
Local Requirements
