Real Estate Licensing in Anna Maria city, Florida
Who Needs a License
Under Florida law, a real estate broker or sales associate must be licensed to engage in any of the following activities: selling, buying, exchanging, renting, or leasing real property; collecting rent; negotiating sales or leases; advertising property for sale or rent; or holding oneself out as engaged in the real estate business.[^1]
A broker is defined as any natural person, partnership, or corporation that employs licensed sales associates or operates as a brokerage firm. A sales associate is a natural person employed by or contracted with a broker to perform licensed activities under that broker's supervision.[^1]
You do not need a license if you are a property owner selling or leasing your own property, or if you are an attorney licensed to practice law in Florida.
