Intent

The purpose of this article is to protect the public health, safety and welfare by:

(1)

Establishing a program for identification and registration of vacant lots.

(2)

Establishing the responsibilities of owners of lots.

(3)

Providing for administration, enforcement and penalties.

(4)

Allowing the city police department to enforce the trespassing penalties described in F.S. § 810.08 on lots.

(5)

Providing a fair, equitable, and efficient method of allocating and apportioning the assessed service costs, which constitute a special benefit to residential and commercial properties, among property owners within the city.
