Recycling programs required for multi-family residences of four units or more

Section: 22-19

(a)

From the effective date of Ord. No. 13194, a multi-family residence of four units or more shall provide for a recycling program which shall be serviced by a permitted franchisee as determined by the city commission or a Florida recovered materials dealer with the authorization of the director of solid waste, and shall include, at a minimum, the following five listed materials:

Recyclable materials: multi-family

(1)

Mixed-paper, cardboard.

(2)

Glass (flint, emerald, amber).

(3)

Aluminum cans.

(4)

Steel cans.

(5)

Plastics, coded 1—7, see section 22-20 of the City Code.

(b)

The failure of a multi-family residential establishment to provide a recycling program pursuant to subsection (a) or a modified recycling program pursuant to section 22-21 shall constitute a violation of this section, for which the property owner(s) shall be liable, provided, however, that in the case of a condominium or cooperative apartment, having a condominium association or cooperative apartment association, said association, rather than individual unit owners, shall be liable for any such violation.
