Penalties
Section: 42-109
(a)
A violation of any of the provisions of this chapter may be punished as provided in section 1-13. Violations of the prohibitions and regulations of this article shall additionally constitute offenses and violations of a city ordinance. Such violations may be punished by a fine not to exceed $500.00 for each successive violation as provided in chapter 2, article X of this Code.
(b)
Any person who charges a vehicle owner a towing or storage charge in excess of the rate described herein is liable to the vehicle owner for three times the amount charged.
(c)
Any owner or agent of the business enterprise in possession of any private property causing the removal of a vehicle parked on that property is liable to the vehicle owner for double the storage or towing charges whenever the owner or agent fails to comply with the regulations as set forth in section 42-108(b).
(d)
Violations of the regulation or prohibition of this article shall result in suspension or revocation of the license of the business enterprise as set forth in section 42-108(a).
