Title 53 · Chapter 53 - STADIUMS AND CONVENTION CENTERS

Reservations

Section: 53-85

(a)

All requests for reservations for the use of the stadium shall be made in writing, and all reservation charges shall be paid in advance at the time the reservation is made; provided that the city manager may waive advance collections of reservation charges for regularly scheduled events by accredited schools or universities in the vicinity of the city. When the advance collection is so waived, all payments due the city shall be made within at least three working days after the date of the event and prior to a succeeding event, as provided in section 53-84. All reservation charges shall be paid to or retained by the city, whether or not the stadium is used or the events are held, and in all cases shall be applied toward the payment of the ten percent of the gross gate receipts or the minimum charge for the use of the stadium, as the case may be, unless the reservation is cancelled by the city as further provided for in this section. No reservation shall be made for any persons or organizations other than an authorized representative of the sponsor of the proposed event for which such reservation is made.

(b)

The city reserves the right to be the sole judge of the character of the events or performances engaging or using the stadium and grounds, and any reservations may be cancelled in the discretion of the city, through its proper officials with the return of any fees paid in advance.
