Who Needs a License

Any person who installs, constructs, alters, or repairs plumbing systems in North Miami must hold a valid Florida plumbing license. A license is required whether work is performed for compensation or as part of employment.

Submit your application, proof of experience, and exam results to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). The Construction Industry Licensing Board, established under Fla. Stat. § 489.107, oversees this process.

Step 4: Obtain Local Permit
Once licensed by the state, contact the North Miami Building Department to register your license locally and obtain the required City of North Miami business tax receipt and permits before beginning work.
