Real Estate Licensing in North Miami city, Florida

Who Needs a License

Under Florida law, a real estate license is required for any person who, for compensation, sells, purchases, exchanges, rents, or leases real property on behalf of others, or who advertises or holds themselves out as engaging in these activities. Stat. § 489.105 defines a "broker" as a person who, for compensation, acts as an intermediary between parties in real estate transactions, and a "sales associate" as a person employed by a broker to perform licensed activities under the broker's supervision.

In North Miami, anyone performing these functions must hold the appropriate state-issued license before conducting business.
