Who Needs a License

How to Get Licensed
Real estate licensing in Florida is regulated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) under the Division of Real Estate.

- Complete 63 hours of approved pre-licensing education
- Submit application to DBPR with proof of exam passage and education completion
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old and be sponsored by a licensed broker
For Brokers:
- Pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Exam
- Complete 72 hours of approved broker education
- Have a minimum of 24 months of active experience as a licensed sales associate within the 5-year period preceding application
- Submit application to DBPR with proof of exam passage, education completion, and work experience
- Maintain a trust account for client funds
