Real Estate Licensing in Heritage Pines CDP, Florida
Who Needs a License
Under Florida law, a real estate broker or sales associate must hold a valid license to sell, buy, exchange, rent, or offer to rent any real property on behalf of another for compensation. Fla. Stat. § 489.105 defines a "broker" as any person who, for another and for a fee, commission, or other valuable consideration, sells or offers to sell, buys or offers to buy, exchanges or offers to exchange, rents or offers to rent, or negotiates the sale, purchase, exchange, or rental of real property. A "sales associate" is any person employed by or associated with a broker who performs these activities under the broker's supervision.
If you are performing real estate transactions as an independent operator or representing others for compensation, you need licensing.
