Contractor Licensing in Homeland CDP, Florida
Who Needs a License
In Florida, a contractor license is required if you perform construction work that costs $1,000 or more. Under Fla. Stat. § 489.105, "construction" includes building, altering, repairing, improving, or demolishing any structure. This applies to general contractors, specialty contractors (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, etc.), and building contractors. Fla. Stat. § 489.113 establishes that no person may practice as a licensed contractor without proper licensure.
If your work falls below the $1,000 threshold, you may operate without a state license, but you remain subject to local permitting and inspection requirements.
