Who Needs a License

Florida law regulates water conditioning as a construction trade. Under Fla. Stat. § 489.105, "water conditioning" means treating water to reduce hardness, remove minerals, or alter chemical composition for residential or commercial use.

Any person or entity installing, servicing, or maintaining water conditioning systems in Pace CDP must hold a valid Florida construction license in this classification, unless an exemption applies.

How to Get Licensed

Licensing is administered by the Construction Industry Licensing Board under authority of Fla. Stat. § 489.107.

Steps:

  7. Pass the water conditioning contractor exam covering Florida construction law, industry standards, and technical knowledge
  8. Pay applicable application and exam fees

  9. Receive your license:

  10. Upon passing, the board issues your Florida Construction License for Water Conditioning
  11. License is valid for two years and must be renewed per board requirements
