Water Conditioning Licensing in Tiger Point CDP, Florida

Who Needs a License

Florida law regulates water conditioning as a construction trade. Under Fla. Stat. § 489.105, "water conditioning" means treatment of water to alter its chemical, physical, or biological properties, including but not limited to softening, demineralization, and filtration systems.

You must be licensed to perform water conditioning work in Tiger Point CDP if you are compensated for the service. This includes installation, repair, and maintenance of water conditioning systems for residential or commercial properties.

How to Get Licensed

Florida's Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB), established under Fla. Stat. § 489.107, issues water conditioning licenses. To become licensed:

  7. Apply directly with the CILB (operated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation). Submit your application, experience documentation, exam fees, and license fees to the state board—not your local municipality

  8. Maintain your license through continuing education and timely renewal per state requirements
