Real Estate Licensing in North Sarasota CDP, Florida

Who Needs a License

In Florida, a real estate license is required to act as a broker, sales associate, or team leader when engaging in real estate transactions. Per Fla. Stat. § 489.105, a "real estate broker" is defined as any person who, for another and for a consideration, sells, exchanges, purchases, rents, or leases real property or a business opportunity, or who advertises or holds themselves out as engaging in such activity. A "sales associate" is a person employed by or associated with a broker to perform these activities under the broker's supervision.
